Finding out about your Alfa’s Early History

A great service that some don’t know about is that you can send off the chassis number of you Alfa Romeo to the Alfa Romeo Archives (Automobilismo Storico Alfa Romeo) and they will send you back an email with the build date, sales date, where it was sold t, and the exterior/interior colour information.

Example:

Dear Mister ***

with reference to your request we are informing you as follows.

According to our documentation files, the chassis number AR 721136 originally corresponds to an Alfa Romeo Giulia Super RHD (105.28), manufactured on the 2nd August 1966 and sold on the 24th October 1966 to Alec Mildren from Pymble, Australia.

The body colour is hawthorn white (AR 013), with black skai interiors.

Sometimes the interior scheme may be different to reality but most of the time it is on the money.

Politely send your chassis number to the archivesĀ and you will be rewarded fairly promptly with a bit of history on your car!

They may also give you a printed copy of requested manuals for a fee. A few years back they did this for free! Nicely bound, double sided, with free postage! Pretty sure this isn’t the case now. The Giulia Ti Parts Manual shown below is over 370 pages!
